Scope

To provide comprehensive support to the learning and development needs of the firm across all areas of the business with a particular focus on managing our Learning Management System, improving efficiency through the identification and introduction of new working methods; championing the team and its role in meeting the firm's strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior L&D Manager in designing every element of our Learn.Know.Grow syllabus on an annual basis.
  • Together with the Senior L&D Manager, and others, consider new technologies and ways of delivering blended learning solutions.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) which captures all events falling under the Learn.Know.Grow syllabus – including being the point of contact with the LMS provider, updating course details, managing attendance at courses and events, uploading course materials, collating feedback, producing reports, training individuals to use the system and dealing with end user requests. 
  • Assist the Senior L&D Manager with the organisation of all of our internal training events falling under the Learn.Know.Grow syllabus from start to finish including:
    • liaising with barristers' chambers and other providers regarding speakers for in-house seminars;
    • inputting the training into our LMS;
    • designing and issuing course invitations using our team’s branding;
    • producing documents and materials for programmes and events held internally;
    • setting up Zoom details and/or checking room availability and working with other teams to ensure L&D events are set up as required;
    • meeting/greeting trainers (virtually or in person);
    • hosting training sessions ensuring that all attendees feel welcome; and
    • managing the invoicing process for firmwide L&D events and other L&D activities.
  • “Own” the team’s L&D intranet pages, action intranet updates using Sharepoint software, and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Update the intranet on a weekly basis with details of forthcoming L&D events.
  • Manage the Inn Group training programme hosted by the firm, and liaise with representatives from the other Inn Group member firms regarding the wider Inn Group training programme.
  • Manage the language training programme and trainer relationship.
  • Maintain accurate records of L&D contacts in InterAction.
  • Support individuals in maintaining their reflective learning records and be a point of contact for their queries relating to legal professional bodies' training compliance.
  • Ensure incoming queries are actioned or forwarded as appropriate.
  • Manage bookings for Business Services team members’ external training.
  • Provide general L&D administrative support as and when required.
Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in the L&D team in a professional services (or similar) environment. Experience in law firm would be an advantage.
  • An enthusiasm for IT and technology projects including:
    • Being a confident user of IT systems including MS Office 365; and
    • Experience of working with a Learning Management System.
  • An awareness of the commercial world.
  • An interest in networking and building your profile.
  • A desire to work in a well-established, fast-paced team which values an innovative, solutions focussed approach.

  • Good communication skills and a confident approach.
  • Proactive and prepared to use initiative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with demanding and sometimes challenging clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
  • Team player with an enthusiastic manner.
Education and Qualifications
  • You will have obtained good grades at Advanced Level or equivalent and have 5 GCSEs (including English Language) at grades A to C.
Special aspects

The hours of work for this opportunity are 9:30am-5:30pm but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary and in response to client demand.
