We have more than 600 lawyers spread over nine locations, all providing highly commercial advice based on an in-depth understanding of our clients' needs. In the UK, we have approximately 700 people working in the London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The firm is growing rapidly and its revenue for 2016/17 was £165 million. The UK accounts for approximately 70% of the headcount.

The Team

The marketing department is responsible for all aspects of business development and communications for the firm and consists of 23 members. The department focusses on revenue generation and reputation enhancement. As a department, we consider ourselves to be commercially minded, proactive & creative with a sense of humour - qualities which we would appreciate in a candidate.

  • Working with the communications team to develop and deliver external and internal communications strategies, aligning them to the firm's business strategy and growth aspirations
  • Plan and implement key communications campaigns as part of the deployment of the strategy
  • Develop pro-active media relations plans and engage with journalists to sell in our experts to comment on business issues
  • Support and develop leadership communications
  • Help drive content development through the intranet, website and social media
  • Work with other business support functions to co-ordinate campaigns and initiatives
  • Develop and manage an international Comms Champions network
  • Ensure the firm is successfully communicating key developments and successes effectively
  • Manage the legal directories process working with the wider BD team
Key Skills & Experience
  • Established relationships with journalists, ideally within the firm's key sectors of technology, finance & financial services, energy & natural resources and l
  • Proven track record in reacting to and driving the news agenda internally and externally
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Imaginative and sociable with high energy levels
  • Excellent networking skills and a good team player with ability to build strong networks across the firm
  • Creative and lateral thinking
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related fields
  • Experience in business/corporate communications for at least four years
  • Knowledge or experience or the legal sector
  • Experience in writing for media, web and print publications
