The Team

The Marketing & Business Development team has more than 20 members based in London and Europe and works closely with sector and practice groups helping to develop profitable revenue streams through client acquisition & development programmes.

The Role

The role is primarily about coordinating and writing first class bid documentation and supporting the team to win new business opportunities for both practice and sector-based legal teams. This will involve developing proposition and marketing collateral for pitches and continuously improving the quality and speed of the bid submission process. It would suit an ambitious individual who is keen to learn and implement best practice in bidding processes.

Responsibilities
  • Managing  the end-to-end bid process for individual/transactional practice and sector-specific bids
  • Supporting the Bids Manager in compiling high value bids to an exceptional standard including formatting and proofreading
  • Ensuring responses are tailored to clients and well-written utilising our sales credentials to their best effect within the given timeframe
  • Influencing partners and stakeholders through best practice process and eliciting relevant technical content that supports agreed win themes  
  • Maintaining the bidding infrastructure through the library of bid responses and templates and by tracking submissions through our CRM reporting system
  • Reviewing and reinventing pitch templates and content to ensure it aligns to best practice and is consistent with our sector-based know-how
  • Working with the Bids Manager and BD team to ensure post-bid debriefs are diarised as appropriate
  • Collaborating with the Bids Manager to spot trends in client feedback and communicate this to the Partners and BD team KPIs:
  • The Bidding Library of experience, CVs, metrics, directory quotes and client testimonials is kept up-to-date

  • Efficiencies are gained in the time it takes to get to first draft on templated proposal responses and to extract data for monthly bid reports

  • Win rate meets or exceed 60% (team target)

  • Proven experience in a similar bids, coordination or technical writing role.
