Banking Solicitor (No Agencies)

In our Financial Markets and Products group our banking lawyers provide expert advice on a wide variety of international and domestic banking and finance transactions, including acquisition finance, asset finance, funds finance, private banking and wealth management, real estate finance and receivables and asset based lending.

We have many years of experience in advising global investment banks, international and domestic banks, asset managers, investment funds (retail, institutional and alternative), private equity sponsors, other financial institutions, industry bodies, sovereign entities, corporate end-users and ultra-high net worth individuals.

We are looking for a talented junior lawyer in English law to work in our highly-regarded banking practice, with a particular focus on banking transactions (acting both for lenders and for borrowers) but also assisting with restructuring and insolvency matters.  

• Proactively manage own matters
• Support the partners and senior lawyers both in Manchester and in London on larger transactions
• High levels of direct client contact – candidates would be expected to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Contribute towards business development strategy of the team by preparing briefing papers, attending and presenting at team meetings and developing their own contacts within organisations

• Relevant experience and a keen interest in banking law.
• Strong academic record.
• An enthusiasm for developing and maintaining client relationships is essential.
• Good legal skills including attention to detail in drafting and a genuine interest in the needs of the client.
• An ability to think laterally and identify related issues and problems.
• A confident and professional manner strong communication skills.
