In the UK, we have approximately 700 people working in the London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The firm is growing rapidly and its revenue for 2016/17 was £165 million. The UK accounts for approximately 70% of the headcount.

The Team

The Marketing & Business Development team has more than 20 members based in London and Europe and works closely with sector and practice groups helping to develop profitable revenue streams through client acquisition & development programmes.

The Role

The role is primarily about creating and helping to drive growth within a Sector or a number of Practices. The role will entailworking closely with the Sector and Practice leaders as well as the BD Team to develop new relationships, help broaden and deepen client relationships, develop new propositions, pitching (document development, coaching and participation) and a range of other activities. It would suit an ambitious individual who is able to succeed in a challenging environment with multiple stakeholders while maintaining focus on core priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with Core Practice and Sector leaders to focus agenda on activities that will drive revenue generation and reputation enhancement
  • Have a keen awareness that our most precious resource is fee earner time and help to ensure this is spent on the most productive activities
  • Help develop and drive sales campaigns in the course of the year that:
  • Increase the number of companies we have contact with
  • Build our relationships with buyers of legal services (mix of new and existing)  
  • Contribute to achieving a well above average success rate in the number of bids we participate in
  • Help identify topics for client discussion, for partner discussion with the press and/or for development into thought
  • leadership collateral
  • Participate and drive the success of pitches for work
  • Help with developing innovative ideas and activities that help us to win more work
Key Skills & Experience
  •  Very strong influencing skills and an ability to work effectively in a demanding and high performance environment
  • Highly achievement orientated without being egotistical
  • Demonstrable track record of sales success preferably in a B2B environment
