The Team

The Competition, Regulatory & Trade Group at Fieldfisher in Brussels consists of a multilingual team of over 15 specialised international lawyers. The Group focuses on EU Regulatory and chemicals in particular (e.g. REACH, biocides, pesticides, cosmetics, medical devices), Trade, Energy, and Competition law.

Responsibilities

Fieldfisher is looking for a trainee or a junior experience level lawyer to join our EU Regulatory practice. The practice advises international companies on regulatory compliance in Europe. The work on the foregoing includes litigation before the European Courts and European Agencies, data sharing negotiations, and also non-contentious work providing advice to consortia of companies and individual companies on the review and/or marketing of their products in Europe.

New joiners are given every opportunity to develop their skills, meet clients, and grow in the practice.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • strong academic record;
  • admitted to an EU-bar;
  •  LLM in European/International law;
  • excellent command of English;
  • diligent, proactive and service-minded character;
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • pragmatic, result-oriented and organised individual; and
  • team player attitude

Nice to have: 

  • experience in EU Chemicals law or other similar regulated sectors is a plus  – we are aiming to recruit an excellent team worker with transferable skills; and
  • language skills.
