As a general rule, we look for a very strong academic background coupled with good relevant experience. 

Fox Williams are looking to recruit an additional solicitor to support their busy capital markets team which is ranked as a leading firm in both the Legal 500 and Chambers legal directories. 

The successful candidate will be a member of Fox Williams’ corporate team and be expected to focus a significant proportion of their time playing a key and challenging role on AIM and Main Market transactions, together with a breadth of corporate work. 

This is an interesting role which will involve the successful candidate working closely with the Head of Corporate, Richie Clark ( a leading individual in Chambers for Capital Markets: AIM ) and Guy Morgan, as well as a number of other partners in the highly-rated corporate team who regularly advise on capital markets transactions.   

One of the characteristics of the role is the integrated approach we take with our capital markets practice.    We act for existing and aspiring public companies at all stages of their life cycle which will expose the successful candidate not only to listing and financing transactions on the Main Market and AIM, but also public and private M&A and increasingly corporate governance and shareholder engagement and activist situations involving public companies.    We seek to develop client teams who can respond to whatever issue arises for our public company clients.  The successful candidate will therefore need to be adaptable and enjoy the variety involved in being a key business advisor to clients.   

We also regularly act for a wide number of nominated advisers and brokers and seek to build up strong relationships with them as part of our practice.    We focus predominantly in certain industry sector areas where our in-depth knowledge adds real value: natural resources, financial services, technology (including fintech), and retail. 

In addition to the legal work, the successful candidate would also be involved in business development activities with a view to developing deep relationships with clients and other industry participants, as well their interest and knowledge in one or more of our chosen industry sectors.
