The firm

Fox Williams offers a unique opportunity to advance your career in a personable, progressive and entrepreneurial environment.  Our people and culture are important to us and central to everything we do. We continually strive to create and maintain a friendly and supportive environment for our staff.   You will quickly get to know everyone from the Senior Partner to the most junior staff.  Whilst we are recognised for our strong culture and investing in our people, we are equally well known for our high profile matters, quality of our work and solving our clients’ most complex legal issues.

The opportunity

The role involves advising and acting for travel clients on regulatory and commercial matters. Our clients range from booking platforms, online travel agents, bricks and mortar travel agents to tour operators and cruise companies.

The work is quite varied but there are typically two aspects to the work:

  • representing clients in their dealings with regulators such as the CAA, CMA and ABTA – this might involve contentious matters (e.g. dealing with CMA investigations or disputes with CAA), or it might be more business as usual e.g. helping clients comply with the ATOL regulations;
  • general commercial work in the travel industry e.g. advising travel clients on their relationships with commercial partners (airlines, other travel companies, merchant acquirers) – this might involve business as usual drafting of commercial agreements or resolving more contentious matters at the pre-litigation stage.

The work also has an international element e.g. helping clients launch into new markets.

Responsibilities
  • Ideally, we are looking for a lawyer from a regulatory background and with experience of advising clients upon compliance with regulations and dealing with regulators. Travel experience is not needed.
  • Minimum 2 years PQE
  • E&W Qualified
