The opportunity

We are looking to recruit a mid-senior associate to support our market leading FinTech and Alternative Finance team. This is a unique opportunity which will involve a successful candidate working closely with FinTech and Alternative Finance partner Jonathan Segal, advising both established and new FinTech platforms. Typical clients include UK and European lending platforms (both corporate and consumer lending), challenger banks, open banking platforms and payments platforms.

The role is suitable for an experienced banking and finance, structured finance or DCM lawyers looking to expand their repertoire of legal skills to become a lawyer equipped to service the needs of a technologically-driven financial services market. The work will require a strong knowledge of debt finance and security documentation, but the lawyer will also have the opportunity to expand their regulatory knowledge and work on regulated consumer products and help structure new FinTech products.

Responsibilities

Typical workload would include:

  • Drafting standard term corporate and consumer lending and security documentation for lending platforms.
  • Structuring lending platforms from a regulatory and commercial perspective.
  • Structuring and drafting debt issuances and wholesale funding lines for lending platforms.
  • Drafting regulated commercial agreements, such as platform terms and conditions and FinTech financial products.

This unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of disruptive finance and technology will sit in the corporate and banking team but work closely with the other FinTech lawyers in the financial services regulatory team and the commercial and technology team.
