Job Purpose: 

The role is for twelve months maternity leave cover and will report to the Marketing Partner and work closely to support the M&BD team to implement the Firm-wide and Group Marketing Plans and ensure timely delivery and budgetary control of assigned activities.  To provide input and support in the development of marketing plans.

The role will involve high levels of engagement with all areas of the firm to increase the engagement in marketing activities, providing hands-on support for event, sponsorship and promotional activities

Key Responsibilities

Principle Responsibilities:

Insight:

  • Understanding of IBB’s, vision, mission and business opportunities to develop an events and sponsorship programme to support these.
  • Understand IBB’s brand positioning and values, to ensure all marketing activities reflect this
  • Understanding IBB’s priority targets in order to develop ideas for events and entertainment to support these.
  • Understanding the full marketing mix and how events, sponsorship and promotional activity support brand building and revenue generation.
  • In conjunction with the M&BD team create and develop marketing and BD campaigns and projects.

Identifying hot topics and industry trends and developing the events programme; monitoring competitor activity in response.

  • Making recommendations for improving systems and processes

Project management:

  • Building relationships with stakeholders in the business to help drive activities.
  • Building relationships with internal Business Support Group (BSG) teams and ensure their services and resources are used to support marketing and business development objectives.
  • Acting as a champion for the use of the CRM in the practice and updating for one’s self the CRM for BD and marketing campaigns.
  • Managing activities to quality expected using budget, resource and time.
  • Communicating with stakeholders regularly on scope, exclusions and assumptions, delays and difficulties, to ensure peace of mind.

Marketing

  • Events
    • Organising events and client entertainment for the firm, including co-ordination of invitees, invitations, formatting presentations/support materials, response handling, event logistics and internal briefings and debriefing.
    • Updating the CRM pre-and post- events including checking against deceased and TPS lists before each mailing.
    • Supporting the New Business and Client Executives in the execution of their campaigns particularly hospitality and events.
    • Supporting the Communication Executive with events, sponsorships and promotional requirements.
  • Supporting the Online Executive with events, sponsorships and promotional requirements.
  • Documenting, evaluating and publishing IBB event information regularly internally and externally, including engagement with social media and digital platforms.
  • Sponsorship and Promotional activity
  • Managing day-to-day relationships with sponsorship partners.
  • Liaising with suppliers to assist integrated approach to campaigns.
  • Developing attractive promotional items for “give-aways” as well as sourcing, purchasing and supplying promotional goods, promotional tools (eg banners).
  • Achieve best prices in negotiation and deliver on time and to quality.
  • Design, using InDesign and develop and produce material to support events and sponsorship, including design and copywriting using existing templates and/or contract with external suppliers for design and print.
  • Work effectively with external providers of marketing and BD services to ensure value for money is achieved from these.
  • Maintain a strong sense of the ROI delivered from projects undertaken and commitments made. Always putting the firm’s strategic and operational wellbeing at the forefront of decision making.

    • Technical marketing skills in event management, sponsorship, promotions and purchasing
    • Expert project management skills
    • Communication skills, including strong copywriting, proof-reading and editing ability and a ‘plain English’ approach

    • High level of visual accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Good numeracy and reporting skills.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
    • Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite applications
    • Expert knowledge of dotmailer and CRM systems
    • Good understanding of the legal profession
