The department

THE TAX TEAM

The Tax team consists of three people:

  1. The Head of Tax who advises primarily on corporate and commercial transactions, and who sits within the Corporate team

  2. A partner who advises primarily on share plans and incentive arrangements, and who also sits within the Corporate team

  3. A consultant partner who advises on employment tax, incentives, and some of the regulatory issues associated with incentives in the Financial Services sector, and who sits within the EIR division

Responsibilities

PERSON AND THE ROLE

We expect the candidate to have excellent academics and strong interpersonal skills.

We are seeking a 3-6 year PQE associate with experience of corporate tax, commercial tax and private company share incentives to work in a small team and take advantage of the opportunity to grow into new areas.  The firm will provide full support in the development of the candidate’s skills and give them the opportunity to do good quality, interesting and varied work based on the firm’s wider Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate and Employment practices.

The successful individual will work closely with friendly and supportive partners in a busy Tax, Reward and Incentives team, and be heavily involved in the transactional work of the broader Corporate team.  The firm is also encouraging of growth in the firm’s tax advisory practice, and the role offers good prospects for personal and career development.

Additional information

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Our preferred candidate would have at least 3 years’ experience in a commercial firm with experience advising on the tax aspects of a variety of commercial and corporate transactions, negotiating the tax aspects of corporate transactions, and designing / implementing equity incentives. Experience with clients in the Media & Entertainment sectors or advising on intellectual property tax matters would be an advantage but is not required.

IT SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient IT skills - Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype for Business, DocsCorp PDF Docs, Word Compare (DocsCorp CompareDocs), Document Management System (Netdocs), although full in house training will be provided.

  • Time recording (Intapp TIME)
