Employment Lawyer (Permanent)

Term: Permanent
Department: LS In-house
Location: London
The firm

Lewis Silkin is widely recognised as the leading specialist employment practice and its team of over 140 employment and immigration lawyers is the largest in the UK. Chambers and Legal 500 have rated us as a Tier 1 practice for over a decade and this year rate 20 of our partners as “leaders in their field”.  Additionally, this year Who’s Who Legal named us “Global Law Firm of the Year for Labour, Employment & Pensions” for the second year running rating substantially more of our lawyers than any other firm in the UK. The employment team works with a wide range of clients including many large household names and multinational companies across the full range of day to day and specialist areas of employment law.

The department

Lewissilkinhouse is Lewis Silkin’s flexible resourcing service which provides clients with temporary lawyers and paralegals on an interim basis to cover for absence, busy periods or assist with projects. It was established in 2013 and is one of the first law firms providing an offering of this kind.

We are looking for lawyers to join the employment division of Lewissilkinhouse, a specialist group within our Employment and Immigration division, which advises on all aspects of UK Employment law. Many of our clients who use our in-house service are well-known multinational household names with large employee bases across a variety of sectors including media, technology, professional services, retail and financial services.

Our in-house lawyers receive a competitive remuneration package with access to extensive employee benefits and are fully integrated into the firm's Employment, Immigration and Reward team. They are invited to all the team’s social events, training and know how sessions and have access to the team’s template and precedent documents.

Lewissilkinhouse lawyers usually work exclusively at clients’ premises.  From time to time short gaps might arise between in-house client placements; if so, pemanent Lewissilkinhouse lawyers would work within our core team during any such gaps. Placements are largely based in Central London but can occasionally be based elsewhere including Greater London and the M4 corridor.
