The department

The Business Development and Marketing team is responsible for supporting and implementing the marketing and business development strategy of the firm.

The primary focus of the Central Marketing team is to manage firm wide marketing and communication initiatives as well as help implement and utilise best practice across all marketing and business development activities, working with business development teams.

The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for playing an active role in ensuring the marketing activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, and that day-to-day tasks are managed effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Website – updating the website to reflect developments in the business, new joiners, events, news and publications.

  • Social media – posting content on firm’s social channels in line with agreed process and best practice.

  • External communications – creating mailing lists on the firm’s CRM system (InterAction), reviewing and updating contact information, compiling and sending event and other mailings using Vuture, the eMarketing tool, tracking responses, reviewing success of mailings and producing other reports as requested.

  • Events – providing support with client events including coordination of invite lists, event communications logistics pre, during and post event, on the day support (registering attendees), preparing event materials, measuring effectiveness and working with the team to ensure effective follow-up.

  • Internal communications – producing the firm’s internal newsletter and updating other channels with relevant information.

  • Image library – ensuring the firm’s image library is up-to-date, meets our needs and adheres to brand guidelines.

  • Branded merchandise – liaising with external suppliers and maintaining firm’s stock of branded / promotional merchandise.

  • Info inbox – assisting with the monitoring on-line enquiries received into the website and events mailboxes.

  • Providing support on other projects and tasks as required.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proactive attitude to work; enjoys and brings a high level of commitment and enthusiasm to managing a number of projects and administrative tasks.

  • Ability to work well in a team, with a positive and friendly attitude, helping facilitate easier working together.

  • Able to manage own work load with guidance and input from team members. Always looking, and trying to develop new ways of working.

  • Previous experience of working in a marketing function, preferably in a professional services environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels, from senior partner to junior admin staff.

  • Comfortable taking a brief for a project, working as part of a project team with supervision or working on own initiative.

  • Good understanding of technology platforms used in business development and marketing: particularly web platforms – knowledge of InterAction, Vuture and Sitecore web CMS desirable but not essential.
