The department

The legal industry has faced significant change in recent years, which has impacted both client expectations and the delivery of legal services. In this climate, the key to providing excellent client service will be our ability to embrace new ideas, technologies, and ways of working to help us challenge the present and shape the future. Spotting game-changing innovations, encouraging ideas as to how we sustain and grow our business and support incremental innovation will be a big part of this role.

As a Solutions Manager you will be a core member of the firm’s Innovation team and play an exciting and key role in delivering the firms strategic objectives with respect to client service excellence and innovation. You will work with clients, across legal practice groups and business services teams, responsible for delivering all stages of change work - from leading opportunity identification, developing the initial proposition / concept, business case sign-off, pilot, rollout and transitioning a change into BAU operations. This is a strategic role, involving significant senior stakeholder interaction, both with firm senior management and with clients.

To be successful you’ll be highly motivated, a self-starter, bringing a proactive, can-do attitude to project delivery, capable of working independently as well as in teams in our collaborative but sometimes demanding project environment. You’ll need to be credible, with the gravitas to engage and influence effectively with partners, business leaders and senior client stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on the analysis of legal work to identify and understand opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate the definition of the scope of work in conjunction with relevant business teams
  • Define the requirements and case for change for all change work within your responsibility
  • Develop the business case and work with stakeholders to achieve the required buy in and approvals
  • Design and scope programmes of work that will deliver the benefits set out in the business case
  • Lead on the development, management and delivery of an appropriate project and change plan; Including governance framework and management of dependencies, risks and issues
  • Development and management of a benefits realisation approach from Proof of Value (pilot), through to transition into BAU.
  • Effective stakeholder management to ensure that all interrelated work is managed effectively
  • Share best practice and advise on projects run by other teams to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 4-5 years’ experience gained in consulting or business change roles
  • Strong consulting skills, with demonstrable experience of change delivery
  • Confident and able to build positive relationships with partners, clients and other key stakeholders
  • Lean, Prince 2 or similar qualification is an advantage but not essential
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manner and juggle multiple projects
  • Legal experience would be an advantage however is not a prerequisite
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload, pro-active and takes initiative
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with people at all levels
  • Resilient and calm under pressure
  • Adaptable and flexible approach.
