Summary of role

To be part of Finance team responsible for book keeping and financial reporting activities of the Firm. Working closely with AP team and other members of the Finance, providing an excellent service to clients, contacts and staff. Take ownership of the month end close process of the Firm to ensure all deadlines are met.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Production of accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts including all balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss schedules including monthly KPI reporting
  • Production of accurate and timely monthly Divisional Accounts
  • Continuous management of Accruals, Prepayments, Intercompany, Bank and Fixed Assets
  • Working closely with AP team and Assistant Accountant to maintain the accuracy of invoice coding into Elite, ensuring polices such as Fixed Asset classification are followed and overseeing timely and accurate submission of Indirect cost reporting
  • Daily update of cashflows including forecasting for future expected payments and receipts
  • Responsibility for setting up payments and bank transfers as and when required
  • Daily bank reconciliations in Elite
  • Responsible for Credit Card reconciliations including follow up on queries
  • Accurate and timely postings to current accounts, drawings, taxation and capital accounts in Elite and maintenance of associated schedules.
  • Completion of year end audit files and year end liaison with external auditors
  • Responsibility for completion of Statistical reporting as and when required
  • Work in progress review and the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual valuations including liaison with fee earners and partners as appropriate
  • Involvement in production of the quarterly VAT return including the ESL quarterly submission and dealing with adhoc VAT queries for the Firm
  • To oversee the distribution of monthly reports including UBTC, unpaid bills, WIP and All Matter Balances
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall having a responsibility towards self-development
  • Assisting within the department or any other duties as reasonably required           

 

Essential and desirable criteria
  • ACCA/ACA qualified

  • Accurate, highly organised, hands on individual who is able to work with limited supervision

  • Good Team player who is able to communicate at all levels

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

  • ‘Can do’ attitude

  • Excellent attention to detail
