Our expert Commercial Litigation and Civil Fraud lawyers specialise in fraud (civil and criminal); commercial disputes; international corporate investigations; and cross-border issues (including extradition and mutual legal assistance).

Other information

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a bright LPC/BPTC graduate to assist our Civil Litigation team. The team require someone with a strong academic background, a good grasp of legal procedural principles and previous legal research experience gained ideally from a private practice, chambers or legal publishing environment. Effective communication skills are essential, together with a very high standard of written and spoken English.

Our civil litigation practice covers a wide range of areas including: civil fraud; international fraud; tax investigations; jurisdiction and trust related matters. The successful individual will be asked to provide research support for the partners and associates, and to prepare articles, memos and presentations for business development and client purposes using a variety of legal sources. In quieter periods, the individual will also be expected to assist the wider paralegal team with tasks ranging from bundling, document management, taking notes in client meetings and general administration.

More specifically, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

  • An understanding of litigation proceedings;
  • A proven background in an academic/research role;
  • A high level of academic achievement, including a minimum 2:1 degree and a commendation in the LPC or very competent in the BPTC;
  • Experience of using legal databases such as Lexis Nexis, Westlaw and PLC;
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programmes;
  • The ability to work independently and manage their own workload;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; and
  • A proactive and positive approach to work.
