The teams are located across 4 of our office hubs in the Midlands and sit within our infrastructure and specialist markets business unit. Although they span 4 different geographic locations it’s very much one team and they work together to provide exceptional service advising clients on both personal and business matters. Being part of a large national law firm has great benefits and means we can all collaborate with others in the firm, drawing on a breadth and depth of market and technical expertise. Neil Gosling heads up the team. He has acted for the majority of the country’s top 10 national house-builders as well as for significant institutional landowners, private builders and developers. He has enviable experience in dealing with all aspects of the acquisition and disposal of consented and unconsented land, strategic land, consortium-led purchases and complex multi-phase mixed-use regeneration schemes.

The role:

Are you an experienced conveyancing executive looking for your next career opportunity? We have an exciting opportunity for a conveyancing professional to join our customer-focused residential development conveyancing team.

The role will mainly involve providing a high quality legal service to clients in the sale and purchase of residential properties with particular emphasis on residential freehold and leasehold sales and purchases of new build homes, including Help to Buy transactions. We are appointed to “Preferred Solicitor” conveyancing panels for a number of House Builders, and we are looking for someone to help us grow this offering.

Your key duties will be:

  • dealing with clients in a professional manner, maintaining close and regular contact
  • liaising regularly with individuals involved in transactions including lenders and agents
  • handling queries and enquiries efficiently
  • maintaining good file management
  • providing updates within specific timeframes to individuals and agents on progress
  • working to strict deadlines
  • initiating and attending business development opportunities
  • working with the national team leader to support business improvements
  • ensuring all relevant compliance measures, including those required by the Conveyancing Quality Scheme

Skills and experience you will have:

  • a minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a conveyancing / fee earner role, specialising in residential conveyancing matters
  • a relevant qualification
  • experience of handling your own caseload and using a case management system

Key competencies you will need:

  • demonstrable business development successes and knowledge of the housing market
  • a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment
  • excellent organisational and prioritising skills
  • IT literacy with the ability to use case management systems

We have hubs in Birmingham, Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Solihull and Stratford-upon-Avon. This role will be predominantly home based with travel as required by the business into one of our office hubs. This role will have a blend of homeworking with travel as required to our Solihull or Stratford-Upon-Avon hub.
