Meet the team

Our marketing team plays a crucial role in helping the firm achieve its ambitious growth plans. The team is aligned to the business, shaping, embedding and delivering against the strategy, helping to retain and attract new clients whilst putting the client at the heart of everything we do.

The team of around 30 are based in Nottingham, Birmingham, Leicester and London. They are multi-disciplined, offering a range of services including client and business development, digital, growth-led marketing, PR, content, communications and events for the firm. They pride themselves on understanding the changing marketplace, clients, legal groups and the sectors in which the firm operate to offer specialist knowledge and expertise.

The opportunity

This role is full of opportunities!   We are looking for a market-facing sales professional to introduce new clients and win work for the firm across the East Midlands

We are keen to hear from individuals with a background in work winning roles from either banking, FS, technology, accountancy or other professional services sectors.

The East Midlands is a region bursting with innovation, from large regeneration projects to residential developments, family businesses to listed companies – the East Midlands has it all. Working with our cross service teams, you’ll bring your knowledge of the local market to help drive growth across the region.

 Your key duties will be:

  • build relationships with new organisations and individuals across the East Midlands (EM) that generate new instructions
  • utilise and grow intermediary/referrer network to develop strategic partnerships and reciprocal relationships
  • maintain and develop sales pipeline including:
    • research of target companies and contacts
    • initiating contact and building relationships
    • agreeing approach tactics with relevant lawyers and introducing them at the right point of need
    • organising meetings and insuring appropriate follow-up
  • working with fee earners from across the firm’s teams and sectors to build relationships with the other sales and BD individuals in the market
  • working collaboratively with the wider Business Development and Marketing team to generate leads and share market feedback and leverage firm wide initiatives, products and sector experience

Role requirements:

  • proven ability to collaborate and integrate sale activity as part of a wider client engagement strategy
  • strong track record of introducing new work to meet and exceed sales targets including ownership and delivery of prospect engagement activity in the East Midlands
  • effective networker able to build good relationships with prospects to gain insight into their business objectives, motivators and needs
  • desire to understand the legal environment and firm’s service offering

We have hubs in Birmingham, Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon and Sheffield. This role will be based from home and across our East Midlands hubs with regular regional travel.
