Meet the team

To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team.  Our Business Operations Group is made up of business professionals who work with our legal professionals to provide market leading expertise to our clients.  The Groups include; Finance, Operations, HR, Clients & Markets, IT, Risk and the Executive Leadership team.

 

Our Finance team is made up of over 40 people who work from a variety of our office locations. The work is split into four core areas; Financial Accounting, Financial Operations, Business Partnering and Partner Services.

The team work closely with our other business operations teams to provide a first class service. They are responsible for the sound financial management of the firm, including cash flow, budgeting, internal and external reporting and audit. They have responsibilities for the safe-keeping and operating of our clients’ funds held on account and also deal with payroll, credit control, work-in progress, partner finances and tax returns. The team also provide bespoke finance business partnering support to all other areas of the business.

The opportunity

The Planning Analytics TM1 Developer is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Planning Analytics application at SHMA. This includes supporting day-to-day operations, as well as, medium and long-term development in support of business needs and strategy. Utilising a combination of TM1 Architect, TM1 Web and PAW/PAX.

The role will be suitable for a technically minded individual, who is interested in combining the analytical intelligence from data and developing technical solutions to problems in data systems.

The role will report into the Commercial Finance Manager.

Your key duties will be:

  • Deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient IBM Planning Analytics solutions by contributing to all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, modeling & design, development, testing, deployment, integration, and documentation.
  • Administer user permissions and system security settings in IBM Planning Analytics.
  • Be responsible for maintaining detailed process documentation.
  • Manage ongoing user support according to priority and plan and orchestrate consistent development to IBM Planning Analytics
  • Supporting technical development initiatives including financial accounts, management accounts and KPI reporting.
  • Understanding these initiatives and how they feed into forecasting, budgeting and planning activities
  • Challenges current processes and ways of working, striving for an optimal level of output which both delivers on requirements in a timely fashion
  • Engaging with key stakeholders and relaying information in a way that is easy to understand and provides commercial (not just process orientated) insights
  • Triaging Systems Issues and ensuring end user engagement in the tools used to report and manage the business

Skills and experience you will have:

  • Extensive TM1 development experience
  • Expertise in IBM Planning Analytics 2.0
  • Designing secure, modular and configurable solutions
  • Extensive experience of developing PAW and PAX
  • Experience of working in a DevOps and Agile environment
  • Previous experience of working within a Finance role would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of SQL Server/T-SQL would be advantageous
