The opportunity

The role:

The role is to ensure the effective and consistent monitoring of all aspects of the operating costs of the business, reporting as required on expenditure and to work with others, where necessary, to ensure both accurate monthly charging to the accounts and the accuracy of the relevant balance sheet items.

 

Your key duties will include:

  • maintaining the Prepayment register, processing the monthly releases journal, liaising with the purchase ledger team regarding any queries in relation to values and evidencing year end prepayments
  • maintaining the Accruals register, processing the monthly journals in relation to additions and releases and reviewing balances being held at year end
  • processing monthly VAT payments, Quarterly VAT returns in conjunction with the Financial Accountant
  • maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and liaising with the Financial Accountant in relation to appropriate depreciation, write offs and balance sheet evidence
  • month-end monitoring of all expense related nominal control account balances and liaising with relevant team members to ensure all balances are accurate and sufficiently evidenced, and resolving any issues as necessary
  • maintaining the register of all maintenance and support contracts and liaising with IT and Purchase Ledger regarding contract expirations and renewals
  • developing a strong knowledge of the running costs of our various offices and providing relevant management information to the Head of Facilities
  • assisting with the budgeting process

 

Skills and experience you will have:

  • a relevant qualification, part-qualification, or equivalent experience
  • a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar analytical role
  • strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and present it well; experience of pivot tables is an advantage
