The opportunity

The role:

We a looking for an assistant to join our Clients & Markets team based in our Leicester City Centre office, and will contribute to a variety of activities covering the full marketing duties.

Key duties include:

  • working as part of a larger marcomms team to deliver the event element of integrated marketing campaigns
  • having responsibility for the delivery of a number of regional events
  • assisting in pre-event planning, which may include but not limited to, the creation and management of lists, dealing with logistics including travelling to venues to conduct site visits, venue booking, diarising updates, setting and attending briefing and de-briefing meetings, ensuring the despatch of invitations and collation and monitoring of responses, and all associated tasks
  • creating HTML mailings for internal and external use using the firm’s e-marketing technology
  • assisting in collateral development, including co-ordinating inputs (progressing to copywriting) for bespoke event materials
  • assisting in the on-the-day event management, including attending all events, arriving early to ensure rooms are set up including but not limited to, layout / audio-visual / catering, and client registrations
  • assisting in post-event management, including but not limited to, dispatching follow-up communications to attendees and no-shows, processing and analysing feedback reports
  • collating data to prepare return-on-investment reports and areas for improvement
  • taking ownership of the event in-boxes
  • assisting with website content
  • assisting in data management, including the use of research tools such as MINT to develop mailing lists, gathering information about event attendees, and supporting on cleansing ‘bouncebacks’ from the events invite process
  • liaising with stakeholders of all levels
  • delivering events within an allocated budget
  • developing relationships with external suppliers, such as contractors, caterers, audio-visual suppliers, venues

Flexibility to travel to the firm’s other offices nationally and to work extra hours sometimes at short notice is essential due to the nature of the role.

Skills and experience you will have:

  • to be educated to degree-level in marketing (or equivalent)
  • ideally you will have 6 months experience working in a similar events role
  • an understanding of legal or professional services sector (ideally)
  • a working knowledge of social media
