Meet the team

Our multi-disciplinary Real Estate group is highly regarded by our clients and within the sector. It comprises not only lawyers but town and country planners, RICS surveyors, property managers and sector focused financial advisers. We’ve brought experts into our services in planning, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters, construction and litigation with a particular emphasis on energy, retail, housing, education, finance and investment funds.

Our Commercial & IP team advises at all levels of the chain of procurement and supply in both the public and private sectors. With the benefit of significant in-house experience, the team has a thorough understanding of the issues facing businesses and their requirements for legal services. We have a track record of success in acting for clients across a diverse range of goods and services and also have wide experience in the protection, enforcement and exploitation of IP rights in relation to advertising, confidential Information, copyright and database rights, data protection, designs, patents and trade marks, brands and reputation.

The opportunity

The role:

You will be a key player in two busy teams, providing critical secretarial and administrative support to help both our Real Estate and Commercial & IP teams within our Milton Keynes office. 

Your key duties will be:

  • providing timely and effective support to requests for assistance from members of the team
  • completing Land Registry applications, Company House filing and monitoring applications
  • accurately producing and amending correspondence and documentation by tracked changes, including the use of digital dictation
  • attending to clients in person and on the phone taking messages and assisting where appropriate
  • using a case management system to process and progress files
  • managing file opening, closure and archiving
  • producing bills and other financial administration
  • managing diaries for the team, planning and organising meetings and making travel arrangements
  • organising and maintaining departmental filing systems and document storage
  • photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing, filing and other general administrative tasks

Skills and experience you will have:

  • solid previous legal secretarial experience
  • fast and accurate keyboard skills
  • confidence with IT systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally PowerPoint
  • a minimum grade C pass at GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
