Our specialist teams combine expertise with a sound understanding of the commercial landscape to provide exceptional solutions for every aspect of our clients’ corporate requirements.

The opportunity

The role:

This role is focused on managing our websites and generating client enquiries to help us attain our growth plans within the Consumer and Volume legal services teams. As an adviser to the Consumer & Volume Services Board and Head of Operations this role will support, deliver and monitor all online business development activity for the group. The role supports a number of websites and will involve new website launches.

Vitally, this role is about improving our visibility online and the relevance to the audience. You will be active in recommending new technology to the group, keeping in mind at all time the importance of our regulated status.

Your key duties will include:

  • liaising with the firm’s IT team to manage our hosting arrangements and ensure appropriate server maintenance
  • developing and testing emergency back-up procedures to ensure that in the event of failure the sites continue to run
  • maintaining and troubleshooting the sites, this involves areas including content, links, images, order flows, code compatibility with browsers, registration flows and transaction logs. If problems arise in these areas, you will be expected to make corrections directly or liaise with members of the IT team
  • debugging issues that arise with the performance of the website; ensuring a high standard of site maintenance to avoid downtime and improve the speed of the sites
  • ensuring a high level of security is in place to protect against hackers and spammers
  • conducting regular testing on the sites and reporting on functionality, ease of use and load time
  • liaising with our Compliance Team, the Consumer & Volume Business Board and Head of Operations to ensure the sites’ comply functionally with all the relevant regulatory codes including; SRA marketing obligations and GDPR
  • supporting a range of partners across different work specialisms
  • reviewing statistics and monitoring analytics; providing analysis of the health of our sites and create conversion paths so that we can monitor marketing efforts
  • maintaining responsive design; you will stay up to date on the web’s latest technologies and make sure that the sites are always mobile-friendly and multi-platform ready
  • working with the Head of Operations of the Consumer & Volume Business to develop the sites to add new content, features and enhance navigation
  • driving relevant traffic to the sites and ensuring that the sites rank highly in search engines; optimising and reporting upon SEO performance

Skills and experience you will have:

  • specialist knowledge of WordPress
  • a relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent business experience; experience in the legal or insurance sector is advantageous but not compulsory
  • advanced knowledge of running, leading and managing SEO activities
  • active knowledge of HTML coding is desirable not essential
  • experience of working in a Webmaster & Digital Marketing role in service-orientated organisations (ideally professional partnerships, insurance or volume outsourcing providers), performing at a senior level
  • strong persuasion and influencing skills with the ability to command attention and influence business professionals, both internally and externally, willing to listen, learn and develop positions, as appropriate
  • excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • good knowledge of digital targeting initiatives
  • excellent oral and written communications skills
  • a broad awareness of the impact digital marketing initiatives has on business development and to be able to utilise this awareness to recommend actions to improve the level of online enquiries
