Meet the team

Our multi-disciplinary Real Estate group is highly regarded by our clients and within the sector. It comprises not only lawyers but town and country planners, RICS surveyors, property managers and sector focused financial advisers. We’ve brought experts into our services in planning, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters, construction and litigation with a particular emphasis on energy, retail, housing, education, finance and investment funds.

Our multi-disciplinary Property Finance team has extensive experience in advising banks, building societies and other funders including property investors and developers. We are one of the largest teams in the West Midlands with a team of around 30 people experienced in Islamic finance issues alone. We advise our clients on a variety of matters including development finance, facility letters, guarantees, investment finance, loan book management, LPA receivership, priority/subordination deeds, security documents and short-term lending.

The opportunity

The role:

You will provide support to the members of the Property Finance team and have responsibility for post completion registrations at Companies House and HM Land Registry, chasing up on completion undertakings, reporting to the clients, and returning deeds.

You will work within the team to provide a constant service to our clients, and will be expected to co-ordinate over holiday arrangements and absences so that the team always has support.

This opportunity will be offered on a fixed term contract ending on Friday 2nd March 2018.

Your key duties will be:

  • dealing with post completion formalities
  • providing administrative support to a large team
  • opening and closing files and conducting conflict searches
  • dealing with general correspondence
  • handling telephone calls, queries and enquiries, where appropriate
  • assisting with the production of forms and documentation
  • producing Lease Reports
  • drafting documents
  • registering at Companies House and Land Registry

Skills and experience you will have:

  • ideally 6 months’ previous experience of administration gained within an office environment
  • previous experience within a real estate team is desired
  • experience of using a case management system is desirable, not essential
  • strong IT skills and fast, accurate typing ability

  • good communication skills with the confidence to liaise openly and clearly with colleagues and clients
  • the ability to produce a high standard of work, sometimes under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail
  • to be able to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and confidence in your own ability

Ideally candidates will have a legal qualification and be interested to pursue a career in the law.
