Our multi-disciplinary Real Estate group is highly regarded by our clients and within the sector. It comprises not only lawyers but also town and country planners. We’ve brought experts into our services in planning, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters, social housing, construction and litigation with a particular emphasis on energy, housing, education, finance and investment funds.

Our Commercial Property team are one of the fastest growing real estate practices, having more than doubled income and significantly strengthened the team over the last two and half years. With the support of Planning and Construction, we have one of the best integrated teams. We act for local and national developers, pension funds and venture capitalists as well as foreign investors on projects throughout the UK. Our experienced team has assisted in the development and sale of over 4m sq ft of town centre and out of town retail and leisure development as well as industrial and distribution hubs, offices and mixed use schemes.

The opportunity

The role:

We are looking for a 3yr+ PQE Development Solicitor to join our Birmingham-based Commercial Property team.

You will be working for a range of developer clients and play a key role in the team. You will also work with technical experts who are well respected in commercial property law.

Your key duties will be:

  • working with a team of experienced lawyers on a broad range of residential and commercial development work
  • working on large complex deals and having your own caseloads of matters
  • liaising with clients in a professional and efficient manner
  • working to strict deadlines
  • enhancing client relationships through day to day activity
  • to support the growth of the team

Skills and experience you will have:

  • over 2 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial property
  • residential or commercial development experience is preferred, but not essential
  • strong IT skills
  • the ability to seek out and develop marketing opportunities

  • a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment
  • excellent organisational and prioritising skills
  • the ability to work in a busy team
