Meet the team

To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team.  Our Business Operations Group is made up of business professionals who work with our legal professionals to provide market leading expertise to our clients.  The Groups include; Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing, IT, Risk and the Executive Leadership team.

The HR Talent and Development team supports the goals of the business by building a high performance culture with strong engagement and a reputation for developing talent at all levels.  The team has around 20 members comprising HR Business Partnering, Learning & Development, Recruitment, and HR Operations functions.  This is a dedicated team of individuals all passionate about helping our people succeed.

The opportunity

The role:

The Recruitment Advisor plays a key role in providing an effective recruitment service to the business. Working closely with the Recruitment Team, wider HR Team and other key stake-holders, this is a varied and fast moving position handling all legal and support vacancies for the business firm-wide, through the entire recruitment life-cycle. This offers an exciting opportunity for someone with an enthusiasm to build a career in in-house recruitment.

Your key duties will be:

  • responding to initial recruitment requests from the business, working closely with the HR business partner teams to advise and agree upon appropriate sourcing strategy for vacancies
  • organising the promotion of vacancies, advertising through a variety of different channels and managing the administration in order to measure success rates
  • producing shortlists for HR business partners and hiring managers
  • managing and processing applications through the on-line recruitment portal, responding appropriately via email and telephone
  • organising interviews and where appropriate assessments to be included as part of the process
  • managing offers of employment and providing accurate information to the on-boarding team for the production of offer paperwork
  • establishing and maintaining effective relationships with recruitment agencies and having involvement in the PSL review process
  • acting as a brand ambassador for the firm, promoting our values and brand awareness through meetings, networking events and general communications
  • taking a proactive approach to candidate identification, assisting with new ways to source candidates beyond existing methods
  • ensuring accuracy of the content held in the firm’s online recruitment portal,
  • communication with a wide range of individuals including applicants, agencies, line managers, employees and HR business partners
  • dealing with routine Terms of Business matters
  • providing regular reporting information to stakeholders
  • managing feedback post interview
  • managing the administration of recruitment related matters i.e. invoices, partner hire tracker, schedule of interviews and interview feedback records
  • involvement in a variety of projects throughout the year

Skills and experience you will have:

  • a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a recruitment role
  • previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
  • sound IT skills and knowledge of social media platforms

Key competencies you will need:

  • strong and proactive organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines and often with multiple deadlines to meet
  • confident communication skills, able to engage with people at all levels with credibility and persuasion
  • a high level of discretion
  • the ability to work well as part of a team but also autonomously taking responsibility for own workload
  • the ability to be flexible in working location and hours as and when appropriate
  • commercial awareness. Understands the bigger picture and gives this consideration before taking action
