Meet the team

To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team.  Our Business Operations Group is made up of business professionals who work with our legal professionals to provide market leading expertise to our clients.  The Groups include; Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing, IT, Risk and the Executive Leadership team.

Our Sales & Marketing team play a crucial role in helping the firm achieve its ambitious growth plans. The team is aligned to the business, shaping, embedding and delivering against the strategy, helping to retain and attract new clients whilst putting the client at the heart of everything we do.

The team of around 20 is based in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham. They are multi-disciplined, offering a range of services including client & business development, growth-led marketing, PR and communications and event planning for the firm. They pride themselves on understanding the changing marketplace, clients, legal groups and the sectors in which the firm operate to offer specialist knowledge and expertise.

The opportunity

The role:

We a looking for a Business Development & Marketing Executive, specialising in Sectors to join our Sales & Marketing team based in our Birmingham office. 

You will work closely with the Sector Marketing and Sales Manager and team to contribute to a variety of activities covering the full marketing duties.

Key duties include:

  • working with the Marketing and Sales Manager to support on the creation and delivery of sector BD/sales plans
  • scheduling, attending and supporting with sector and sub-sector BD/sales meetings, including administrative support
  • supporting with sector specific marketing and comms (including events), as required
  • working with the Marketing and Sales Manager and Proposals Manager to support with sector specific tenders, proposals and pitches as required
  • supporting on the development and management of key account plans including coordinating and attending meetings
  • providing administrative support for the client review programme
  • being the main point of contact for sector support on a Monday and Friday

Skills and experience you will have:

  • ideally a minimum of 12 months’ previous experience of working in a similar marketing and business development role
  • to be educated to degree-level (or equivalent)
  • ideally an understanding of legal or professional services sector
  • a solid working knowledge of social media
  • solid IT skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key competencies you will need:

  • to be confident in working independently and willing to build rapport and relationships with internal clients, whilst being supervised in your role
  • strong attention to detail
  • to be committed to delivering excellent levels of service
  • to be flexible and able to react to change and prioritise accordingly
  • willingness to work flexible hours and, as necessary, additional hours to fulfil the role
  • excellent organisational skills
