Meet the team

To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team.  Our Business Operations Group is made up of business professionals who work with our legal professionals to provide market leading expertise to our clients.  The Groups include; Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing, IT, Risk and the Executive Leadership team.

Our Sales & Marketing team play a crucial role in helping the firm achieve its ambitious growth plans. The team is aligned to the business, shaping, embedding and delivering against the strategy, helping to retain and attract new clients whilst putting the client at the heart of everything we do.

The team of around 20 is based in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham. They are multi-disciplined, offering a range of services including client & business development, growth-led marketing, PR and communications and event planning for the firm. They pride themselves on understanding the changing marketplace, clients, legal groups and the sectors in which the firm operate to offer specialist knowledge and expertise.

The opportunity

The role:

We are looking for a Marketing Executive to work in our Sales & Marketing team based in our Birmingham office.

This opportunity will be offered on a fixed term contract of 12 months.

Your key duties will be:

  • working with the Business Development Managers to support from a marketing perspective
  • co-ordinating and managing a range of communications materials from newsletters to intranet portals on different topics and initiatives
  • briefing and liaising with external agencies for the creation of bespoke collateral and templates
  • developing and delivering internal and external campaigns (online and offline) utilising various channels from strategic planning to execution and reporting on results
  • ensuring data processes are being followed and supporting the Database Co-ordinator with CRM system queries
  • working with the Digital Marketing Executive to create integrated campaigns and ensuring our digital assets are reflective of the brand
  • data analysis and reporting to support strategic decisions
  • working with internal stakeholders representing the Sales and Marketing team to develop and deliver key projects
  • delivering training to internal stakeholders on brand and social media best practices
  • managing the Shakespeare Martineau brand, ensuring brand guidelines are followed and using your experience to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and development of marketing activity
  • supporting the brand integrity throughout all events, communications and activities, ensuring consistency, positioning and reputation are foremost in the delivery of all projects

Skills and experience you will have:

  • a previous track record in creating, executing and reporting back on marketing campaigns and activities including ROI
  • experience of campaign management across multiple channels, both offline and online
  • the ability to provide constructive challenge
  • the ability to demonstrate autonomy in planning, decision making and budget management
  • experience of working with and managing external agencies
  • the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time
  • previous experience managing data and using CRM system
  • experience in social media marketing, email marketing and website management
  • previous experience in professional service firms preferably legal
  • strong stakeholder management
