Meet the team

Our multi-disciplinary Real Estate group is highly regarded by our clients and within the sector. It comprises not only lawyers but also town and country planners. We’ve brought experts into our services in planning, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters, social housing, construction and litigation with a particular emphasis on energy, housing, education, finance and investment funds.

Our Residential Property team comprises some of the industry’s most experienced lawyers. We provide effective and efficient advice on residential and commercial transactions and have extensive experience in rural estates. With business-wide expertise in energy, planning and employment, we are on hand for every aspect of our client’s property requirements. We advise clients on the sale and purchase of residential properties with particular emphasis on residential freehold and leasehold sales and purchases including new builds. Our team covers the full range of conveyancing service including stamp duty land tax, the Land Registry, NHBC cover for new build properties, Transfers of Equity, remortgages, shared equity, Help to Buy and sales and purchases.

The opportunity

The role:

We are looking for an experienced Conveyancer or Residential Solicitor to join our Nottingham-based Residential team, part of the firm’s Real Estate group.  

The role is to work with the team to provide a high quality legal service to clients in the sale and purchase of residential properties with particular emphasis on residential freehold and leasehold sales and purchases including new builds.  The firm is looking for a keen and driven individual who wants to be involved in and contribute to the expansion of the team.

This opportunity will be offered on a fixed term contract of 12 months. 

Your key duties will be:

  • running a conveyancing caseload with minimal supervision
  • dealing with clients in a professional manner, maintaining close and regular contact
  • liaising regularly with  individuals involved in transactions including lenders and agents
  • handling queries and enquiries efficiently
  • maintaining good file management
  • providing updates within specific timeframes to individuals and agents on progress
  • working to strict deadlines
  • all relevant compliance measures, including those required by CQS

Skills and experience you will have:

Essential experience:

  • it is essential that you have experience within general conveyancing and the ability to handle your own caseload with minimum supervision.

Desirable experience:

  • a relevant qualification
  • a high degree of initiative and ability to cope in a demanding environment
  • excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • experience in using case management systems
  • the ability to complete your own administration
