Our multi-disciplinary Real Estate group is highly regarded by our clients and within the sector. It comprises not only lawyers but also town and country planners. We’ve brought experts into our services in planning, development, investment, landlord and tenant matters, social housing, construction and litigation with a particular emphasis on energy, housing, education, finance and investment funds.

Our Commercial Property team are one of the fastest growing real estate practices, having more than doubled income and significantly strengthened the team over the last two and half years. With the support of Planning and Construction, we have one of the best integrated teams. We act for local and national developers, pension funds and venture capitalists as well as foreign investors on projects throughout the UK. Our experienced team has assisted in the development and sale of over 4m sq ft of town centre and out of town retail and leisure development as well as industrial and distribution hubs, offices and mixed use schemes.

The opportunity

The role:

We are looking for a 2-6yr PQE Solicitor to join our Commercial Property team, based in our Nottingham office.

You will act for a range of quality clients including real estate developers, institutional lenders, investors in property and occupiers, along with a range of other private sector businesses. 

This will be an excellent opportunity for candidates with broad spectrum of real estate experience, including sales and acquisitions, secured lending work, landlord and tenant matters, and development/construction in particular.  We have great but demanding clients and a deserved reputation for quality and speed of response; the team works hard but enjoys celebrating success. 

Your key duties will be:

  • working closely with the senior fee earners and Partners to undertake commercial property work with an emphasis on the following: occupiers and developers, renewable energy, banking and securitisation, corporate due diligence and investors
  • dealing with leasehold and freehold acquisitions, disposals and general estate management work
  • attending marketing events for the firm, entertaining clients and be involved in the development and growth of the team
  • working as part of a wider team that has a depth and breadth of experience and expertise across most industry sectors, and in every area of Commercial Property law

Skills and experience you will have:

  • between 2-6 years’ previous commercial property experience working within a law firm
  • a solid ability to prioritise workload and cope with changing demands
  • the ability to work well under pressure
  • a high degree of initiative and lots of enthusiasm
  • confident interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with repeat clients and as a team
  • strong IT skills
  • the ability to seek out and develop marketing opportunities
  • good technical knowledge of Real Estate law
