The team:

To provide truly outstanding client service we work as one team. Our Business Operations Group is made up of business professionals who work with our legal professionals to provide market-leading expertise to our clients. The Groups include; Finance, Operations, HR, Sales and Marketing, IT, Risk and the Executive Leadership team.

Our Sales and Marketing team play a crucial role in helping the firm achieve its ambitious growth plans. The team is aligned to the business, shaping, embedding and delivering against the strategy, helping to retain and attract new clients whilst putting the client at the heart of everything we do. They are multi-disciplined, offering a range of services including client and business development, growth-led marketing, PR and communications and event planning for the firm.

It is an exciting time for the marketing function it is in the process of transforming its digital approach creating an inspiring creative environment. The team of around 30 are based across many of our offices. The team prides themselves on understanding the changing marketplace, clients, legal groups and the sectors in which the firm operate to offer specialist knowledge and expertise.

The opportunity

The role:

We are looking for a web producer to work in our sales & marketing team based in the Birmingham or Nottingham office.

You will be responsible for updating and maintaining Shakespeare Martineau’s websites, assisting in the delivery of digital development projects and working closely with our digital agency.

You will have good analysis skills and be able to analyse the websites to understand what is working well and what is not. You will use analytic tools to review the sites performances and give recommendations for improvements.

Your role will be to optimise the Shakespeare Martineau websites ensuring continuous improvements in performance across all devices and browsers and ensuring the site provides the best client journey for all users.

Your key duties will be:

  • maintaining responsive design; you will stay up to date on the web’s latest technologies and make sure that the sites are always mobile-friendly and multi-platform ready
  • working with the digital marketing manager to develop the sites to add new content, features and enhance navigation
  • building new and improving existing web pages using CMS (wordpress)
  • debugging issues that arise with the performance of the websites
  • conducting regular testing on the sites and reporting on functionality, ease of use and load time
  • running and supporting conversion rate optimisation (CRO) programmes
  • driving relevant traffic to the sites and ensuring that the sites rank highly in search engines; optimising and reporting upon SEO performance
  • identifying and implementing regular website improvements through use of tools such as Google analytics and Hotjar
  • supporting wider projects and lead small digital projects in liaison with stakeholders internally and externally
  • supporting the sharing of digital marketing best practices across the team and wider function and where necessary helping produce training materials and deliver training

Skills and experience you will have:

 

  • a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable
  • active knowledge of HTML coding would be preferable but is not essential
  • proficient knowledge in Microsoft office and Google analytics
  • specialist knowledge in WordPress / website content management systems
  • advanced knowledge of running and managing SEO activities and using software such as SEMrush
  • a broad awareness of the impact digital marketing initiatives has on business development and to be able to utilise this awareness to recommend actions to improve the level of online enquiries
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
