Skadden's Corporate Restructuring Group has a wealth of experience in advising debtors, creditors, and other interested parties on all aspects of distressed corporate situations. Our practice spans out-of-the court restructurings, formal in-court proceedings, as well as financial recapitalisations, business reorganisations and liquidations. The Firm also advises on insolvency issues in connection with corporate transactions and disputes.

Our lawyers have participated in many of the most complex cross-border restructuring transactions and insolvency proceedings over the last decades, and have handled mandates involving a number of European jurisdictions and the US. Given the nature and the many ways in which these matters may evolve (from simple waivers and covenant resets to a multiparty consensual or forced reorganisation to liquidation), the group often collaborates with the Firm's leading M&A, capital markets, banking and litigation practices to deliver a multidisciplinary and all-round service to clients. The team regularly acts on innovative matters and offers lawyers an excellent opportunity to handle complex, highly sophisticated restructuring work.

The Role

The new hire will join the corporate restructuring group in London.  You will receive a varied workload and whilst working within a small and close-knit team in London, your individual input will be valued.  The London corporate restructuring team also works closely with other departments in London and throughout Europe, as well as with members of the corporate restructuring department in the United States. 

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with 2-5 years' relevant post qualification experience in the London market (or experience in a similar common law jurisdiction), although those with less or more relevant experience will be considered on their merits.  The role requires a candidate with excellent experience in managing client relationships and the ability to assist clients on day to day issues.  Excellent written communication and drafting skills are also required as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative.  They must also possess the skills to take on a high degree of responsibility within a fast paced but friendly environment.  A high level of academic achievement is required.

Training and Development
