Our Casualty team provides a full, expert service in defending public and employers' liability claims, particularly workplace, public sector and claims against the emergency services. Weightmans' team is second-to-none in providing defendant litigation services in these specialist areas. We operate on a national basis with dedicated workplace, public and police teams. |
To provide secretarial support to colleagues in the Birmingham office.
Key duties and responsibilities

Provide secretarial and general administrative support to case handlers in the Casualty team

Produce various letters and documents from audio and copy typing
-
Ensure work is produced in an accurate and timely manner
-
Deal with clients, colleagues and other parties on the telephone and face to face
-
Assist with the smooth running of the office by helping with general office duties such as greeting visitors, arranging meetings and events, dealing with incoming and outgoing post etc

Assist with the billing process

Assist with debt recovery

Assist with financial matters such as requesting and paying in cheques

Previous experience of working in a legal secretarial role

Previous experience using digital dictation systems

Ability to deal with confidential information

Strong administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload

Show initiative and be enthusiastic and self-motivated

Excellent communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel

Good team spirit and ability to work as part of a team.
