The Department

Our Information Systems team is made up of many teams that work together to support Weightmans' information systems and infrastructure. The teams include: development; operations; project services; and support.

The role

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will help us to exploit our data to deliver an even better service to our clients and improve the efficiency of our business. To achieve this, you will work on data science projects but also the development and advocation of actual products.

The person specification

·         Data wrangling and (un)supervised modelling

·         Productionisation of models to perform predictive and prescriptive analyses

·         Knowledge of at least one programming language

·         Querying of large data warehouses using (T)SQL

·         Integration of additional external data

·         Data visualisation tools: Tableau, Shiny, Bokeh or Dash

·         Great communication and presentation skills whilst using meaningful data visualizations

·         BSc/Master’s/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science

·         Self-motivated, keen to learn and adapt and able to work independently and/or as part of a team

·         Some technologies you might be using: SQL Server, SQL Server Machine Learning Services, R, Python, Tableau, Shiny/Bokeh/Dash (being finalised), Excel, Spark, NLP
