The Department

Our Business Change team is a dedicated team responsible for the delivery of projects aimed at driving efficiency, improving quality and enhancing value for our clients.

The role

Reporting to the Business Change Director, the role holder will assist with the delivery of business change / projects / operational excellence and efficiency within Weightmans.  The role holder will be responsible for all aspects of running small scale projects within the Business as well as contributing to larger scale initiatives.  The role holder will help to promote consistency, efficiency and quality in all project activities.

 

Detailed duties and responsibilities

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a project

  • Liaising with business managers and end users to understand and document business processes, workflows and requirements

  • Facilitate business managers and end users undertaking business change activities

  • Appraising the impact of suggested changes on affected business areas

  • Ability to translate business requirements into something that can be understood at all levels of a project from end users to software developers

  • Translating client requirements into highly specified project briefs

  • Planning and managing the implementation of small scale projects

  • Planning and managing the implementation of agile application developments

  • Ensuring business solutions are aligned with the IS Business Strategy

  • Undertake the production of business cases and feasibility studies

  • Providing regular reports to the Business Change Director showing progress against outstanding milestones.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge on best of breed business analysis standards, tools, methods and techniques

Technical skills

  • Workshop facilitation

  • Requirements elicitation

  • Process/workflow mapping

  • BPMN

 

The person specification
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of the legal sector

  • Experience with a case management system

  • Experience of an agile software development methodology

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge / certification desirable

  • BCS Diploma in Business Analysis desirable
