Our Commercial Recoveries team boasts an exceptional record of successful volume debt recovery in all sectors. We have particular expertise in pursuing the recovery of bulk consumer debts and have provided our service to a number of major financial institutions and debt purchase clients. We operate innovative costs structures and can offer a specialist fixed fee product for low balance debts.

 

The role

To work within the litigation Liverpool team with the aim of recovering business debts owed to clients as well as providing occasional support to recover client’s outlay in respect of their handling of claims under the specific legislation

Main duties and responsibilities (subject to skills and experience) include:

  • Receiving, processing and acknowledging new instructions from clients
  • Setting up new matters and dealing with related administrative file opening tasks
  • Preparation of standard pre-litigation correspondence with clients and debtors
  • Adhering to deadlines, monitoring and actioning key dates
  • Responsibility for taking standard judgment steps
  • Dealing with enforcement correspondence with clients and enforcement agents
  • Dealing with financial transactions
  • Liaising with the court
  • Deal with calls and speak confidently regarding the debtor’s financial situation.
  • Negotiate with defendants to reach an agreement to settle the claim without the need for litigation
  • Knowledge of all methods of debt recovery enforcement and ability to identify the most appropriate method to recover monies.
  • Carry out desk top enquiries to ascertain whereabouts of defendants and their ability to pay the sums due
  • Some contact with client, as delegated
  • Achieving set financial targets
  • Provide support to Team Manager
  • Complying with Data Protection procedures

The person specification

Essential

  • Ability to achieve targets and work under pressure
  • Working as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Knowledge or experience dealing with Uninsured Drivers Agreement claims
  • An understanding of the factors that determine whether or not a money claim is worth pursuing
  • Ability to handle undefended money claims
