The Department

Our Project & Facilities team supports both Weightmans' strategic projects and also its central procurement and facilities processes.

The role

To assist the office manager in maintaining the appearance and functionality of the office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance of office e.g. unblocking sinks, fixing appliances, building furniture etc.

  • Painting walls

  • Changing lighting tubes or moving light fittings as required

  • Moving air conditioning vents as required

  • Arranging meeting rooms – moving partitions and chairs and tables

  • Maintaining the office furniture

  • A daily walk through the office collecting in any discarded boxes, toners etc. to keep the office tidy

  • Distributing boxes of paper around print points on the floors one day a week

  • Assisting with ad hoc desk moves and office moves

  • PAT testing equipment – training will be provided

  • Distributing milk and large items of post around the departments

  • Helping the post team collect in post from collection points

Other:

  • There is a possibility that members of the team will be asked to cover a different shift

  • Travel to other office may be required on an ad hoc basis

  • Training on manual handling, ladders and PAT testing will be provided

  • The applicant will be mentored by an experienced member of the Maintenance team

The responsibilities on this job description are not exhaustive and on occasion there may be ad hoc requests to deal with.

The person specification
  • Previous maintenance experience

  • Enthusiastic approach

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time

  • Driving not essential but would be beneficial

  • The applicant is not required to be a qualified plumber or electrician, we engage these services externally if needed but a good knowledge of DIY would be beneficial
