The Department

Our Marketing team is made up of many teams that work together to support Weightmans' marketing processes. The teams include: business development; communications; CRM; events; profile raising; and projects.

The role

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fixed term role for 12 months

  • Provide internal communications support to the board and directors to contribute to the overall communications within the firm
  • Responsible for assisting the team with the implementation of the marketing plan within budget
  • Work with the Marketing Director and Head of Communications to lead on specific projects as required

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To co-ordinate and manage an internal comms calendar and all associated communications.
  • Central point of contact and Superuser for firm’s intranet (Nimbus) which includes advice, training, approving posts and reporting.
  • To support the delivery of senior leadership team events such as the AGM, Town Halls and Christmas.
  • To provide internal comms project support to campaigns and business change teams.
  • To execute the Diversity and Inclusion annual calendar.
  • Work as part of the Communications and Business Development team on ad hoc projects that require additional resource.
  • To use the data from reporting across a variety of internal comms channels (i.e. e-marketing system, Intranet) to make recommendations and improvements to internal communications.

The person specification
  • A minimum of four years experience in a business to business services environment, ideally in professional services.
  • Experience of owning, managing and delivering internal communication campaigns.
  • Experience of developing effective relationships with internal clients, including senior partners, advising and challenging them appropriately.
  • Experience of multi-tasking; being able to prioritise projects/tasks/assignments and working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of administering high level events or conferences.
  • Able to write good quality copy in plain English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Highly IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Ideally have experience with Microsoft Sharepoint and design packages such as In Design and Photoshop.
  • Able to manage relationships with external suppliers.
  • Flexible – the role will be based in Liverpool, but the individual will be required to spend time in other Weightmans offices and work out of hours on occasion.
