The Department

Our People & Knowledge team is made up a number of teams that work together to support Weightmans' people issues and processes, including: business support; employee relations; learning & development; payroll & benefits; and recruitment.

The role

To provide recruitment and other administrative support to the Recruitment team.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Produce offer documents including offer letter, schedule and contract as per instructions from the team
  • Create new starter file and ensure it is kept up to date
  • Implement the background checking process by using and liaising with our third party supplier
  • Liaise with the new starter in relation to any queries or issues
  • Receive, check and record all incoming documents and information in relation to new starters, ensuring issues are raised with the relevant party
  • Update the startersleavers ransfers document on the intranet and communicate it weekly
  • Input new starters and scan files onto the HR system
  • Liaise with internal managers and departments to coordinate new starter equipment requirements
  • Produce ‘first day’ letters
  • Adhere to specific new starter requirements for certain teams types of work
  • Monitor receipt of and chase induction checklists and probation reviews
  • Perform general recruitment support to the team, such as liaising with candidates, arranging interviews etc
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports
  • Assist with wider recruitment or general HR projects and matters
  • Assist with the annual graduate recruitment process
  • Perform other general administrative tasks for the wider team

Essential

  • Previous office administration experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent teamworking skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Accurate with close attention to detail
  • Confidential and discreet

Desirable

  • Previous experience in HR or recruitment administration
  • Previous experience using HR or recruitment systems
