Our Casualty team provides a full, expert service in defending public and employers' liability claims, particularly workplace, public sector and claims against the emergency services. Weightmans' team is second-to-none in providing defendant litigation services in these specialist areas. We operate on a national basis with dedicated workplace, public and police teams.
As part of this dedicated offering the Casualty Fraud Team based out of our Manchester office, are a dynamic and growing team who are achieving repeated fraud success with the application of the 3-D approach; Detect, Deliver and Deter. |
To assist and support the casualty fraud handlers with SLA compliance, file administration and to undertake suitable legal tasks required to deliver operational and client success.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Team Partner and Associates on their casualty fraud files as required;
- Have an understanding of insurance claims and how to deal with liability, causation and quantum;
- Have an interest in delivering the 3-D fraud approach;
- Be able to communicate professionally with insurer and insured clients
- Contribute to team hours and billing targets
- Meet deadlines, and comply with procedural requirements from clients and the firm
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
- Understands how to work commercially whilst providing a good client service

Key duties and responsibilities
- Assist with supportive legal tasks to include disclosure, records reviews, witness enquire and trial preparation
- Review and analyse database/intelligence search results and make enquiries further enquiries as appropriate
- Liaise with other solicitors, insurers and agencies
- Instruct various experts as appropriate
- Complete MI procedures as and when required
- Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
- Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KPI’s are adhered to
- Comply with relevant policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
