The Department

The HR Department is responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of Weil employees in London. We are responsible for all employee relations matters, providing advice and support to ensure that performance management is carried out in a timely and appropriate manner, including assisting with general training issues.

The Role

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and client focussed individual to join our supportive and busy Graduate Recruitment & Development team. As an Assistant, you will support the Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager with the recruitment and development of the Firms trainee solicitors. This is an excellent opportunity for an Administrator or Assistant looking to develop their career.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The Graduate Recruitment & Development Assistant will be a key member of the team providing administrative support. Key duties include:

Recruitment

  • Overseeing the graduate recruitment inbox and responding to candidate queries.
  • Responding to all telephone inquiries from candidates.
  • Organising and participating in open days, law fairs, and events.
  • Assisting with managing relationships with University Law Societies.
  • Assisting with reviewing vacation scheme, training contract, and fast-track scheme applications.
  • Organising interviews for vacation schemes, training contracts, and the fast track scheme.
  • Assisting with organising the vacation schemes and fast-track scheme.
  • Assisting with diversity and inclusion programmes and events.  
  • Processing candidate expenses.

Development

  • Being a point of contact for future trainee queries and processing GDL and LPC maintenance grants.
  • Organising the future trainee mentoring programme and various keeping in touch events.
  • Overseeing the onboarding process for new trainees.
  • Organising the new trainee induction.
  • Arranging PSC training for trainees.
  • Supporting with the trainee appraisal process.
  • Supporting with the trainee seat rotation process.
  • Supporting with the trainee overseas seat process.
  • Supporting with the trainee qualification process.

General Admin

  • Processing invoices.
  • Processing candidate expenses.
  • Supporting the Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications Required

  • The Graduate Recruitment Assistant will ideally have a minimum of a year’s experience working within a professional services environment with a strong administrative background. Previous experience in recruitment is desirable.
  • Have 5 GCSEs A*-C (4-9), including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel (2010).
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to juggle a number of deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn, grow and develop.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
