The department

The position sits within our Aviation and Rail Team which is part of our London Finance Group which group comprises of 17 partners, 30 associates, 3 professional support lawyers and 9 trainees.

Role overview

The Aviation and Rail Team advises banks, lessors, ECAs, manufacturers, operators and private individuals.

Key activities/responsibilities

We advise on all aspects of asset financing including:

  • Export credit backed financing;

  • Syndicated and bilateral debt;

  • Distressed asset finance transactions;

  • Operating and finance leases;

  • Asset sale and purchase;

  • Private placements;

  • Sale and leaseback transactions; and

  • Sale and purchase of loan portfolios.

Skills and experience – essential

In order to be suitable for this position, you will most likely:

  • be a UK qualified solicitor with between 3 and 4 years PQE relevant experience gained at a respected law firm;

  • have proven technical skills in asset finance ideally with a focus in the aviation and/or rail sectors;

  • be able to draft financing and leasing documentation which is clear, concise and unambiguous;

  • be comfortable with managing transactions and have the ability to operate autonomously;

  • have a hands on flexible attitude to providing a high quality client service;.

  • fit into the Firm’s culture of being dynamic, enterprising, creative and hard working.
