Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor / Legal Executive / Paralegal to join the Commercial Property team in our Lincoln office.

The Role

The role will involve working with Partners and other fee earners in delivering on the sale of new build residential dwellings  and advising on residential property investments. 

Covering both new build sales and residential conveyancing investment work, the role will include acting for clients on sales of new builds on development sites acquired by the Commercial Property team, working with clients on residential investments and portfolios, acting for Registered Providers on the grant of shared ownership leases and assisting with site set-up work.

The successful candidate will be managing an existing caseload initially, and then dealing with new matters on existing sites or new sites. In addition, they will be a competent IT user, be able to communicate with confidence, work accurately under pressure, be self-motivated to pursue a career in a fast paced environment and produce written documents accurately and to a high standard.

Duties will include

 

  1. Dealing with new build sales and work.
  2. Dealing with residential investment work.
  3. Development site set-up work.
  4. Acting for Registered Proprietors on the grant of shared ownership leases.
  5. Managing existing caseload and dealing with new work, the majority of which will be referred by other members of the team.
  6. Undertaking legal research.
  7. Regularly updating clients as to the current situation of their matters.
  8. Dealing with routine and difficult enquiries from telephone callers and clients effectively and efficiently and ensuring  that all client queries are dealt with both professionally and promptly to the satisfaction of the client.
  9. Maintaining time recording on client matters on a daily basis.
  10. Maintaining files in a neat and orderly state and ensuring that each file is reviewed and recorded as having been reviewed against the computer printout supplied by the Finance Department every month.
  11. Supporting and participating in the business development work undertaken by the department and seek opportunities to bring in new work.

 

Qualifications
  • 2 + years’ property-related experience, preferably within a law firm.

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in Law.

  • The role may suit a Legal Executive or candidates who are undertaking CILEx studies.

  • Previous experience of case management software is desirable, although training will be provided.
