The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to work within our Agriculture department in Lincoln.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Paralegal or Law Graduate to join the firm's Agriculture team. The duties will include assisting with administrative aspects of matters, taking information from clients face to face and over the telephone and preparing documentation and letters.

This position would suit a candidate who has excellent computer skills in addition to the ability to liaise with clients. Knowledge and experience of property work would be preferred.

Duties will include
  • Carrying out the following tasks
    • attending to file opening and closure procedures
    • using Land Registry Direct to identify and download documents
    • creating documents based on department precedents
    • preparing search requests and chasing up search results
    • obtaining and putting in place insurance
    • preparing draft completion statements
    • preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax forms
    • preparing and submitting Land Registry applications
    • attending to post completion work including registration work and dealing with any Land Registry requisitions.
  • Assisting Solicitors and other fee earners to keep their files in good order and taking on administrative tasks to maintain efficient systems.
  • Dealing with telephone calls effectively and efficiently in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assisting other teams other than Agri Property from time to time as directed.
  • Effectively managing deeds used within the team, liaising with archiving and assisting with the release of deeds to clients.
  • Attending to the submission of client maintenance reports to ensure good financial hygiene within the team.
  • Generally supporting the Agri Property team to provide high quality services to our clients.
  • Supporting the business development work under taken by the Agri & Food Sector.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess some legal experience or knowledge of the law.

  • Whilst not essential, a law degree may be an advantage.
