Summary

We are currently looking to recruit a Fixed Share Partner to join our Domestic Property team in Lincoln. The role will focus on a range of residential property matters from initial instruction through to matter conclusion.

The role will be based in our Lincoln office, but may also require travel to our other office locations.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fixed Share Partner to demonstrate their ability to run their own busy case-load, whilst managing their client's expectations with a friendly and professional approach. 

Prospective candidates must have a sound understanding and be able to demonstrate their ability to manage a busy case-load covering the full spectrum of residential property matters whilst working autonomously, but with the assistance of a highly effective support structure. 

As well as managing your own caseload, the successful candidate will play a key role in business development.

Duties will include
  1. Managing a caseload of conveyancing files including purchase, sales and re-mortgages from instruction to completion.
  2. Assist in continued growth of the Domestic Property team.
  3. Work with the Head of Department to ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to all clients.
  4. To use best endeavours to achieve financial targets agreed with the Head of Department. 
  5. Conduct all matters in the client’s best interest and in accordance with the highest professional standards and applicable “quality” standards at all times.
  6. Ensure clients are regularly updated as to the current situation of their case. Use a document management system for all cases, communicating by e-mail and telephone to clients where possible. 
  7. Take responsibility for routine and difficult enquiries the team receives from telephone callers and clients effectively and efficiently and ensure that all client complaints are dealt with both professionally and promptly to the complete satisfaction of the client. 
  8. Take responsibility for files in a neat and orderly state and ensure that each file is reviewed at least once in every two month period unless there is a valid reason marked on the file for not doing so.
  9. Maintain time recording on client matters on a daily basis and submit completed forms to the Accounts Department.
  10. Understand the obligations relating to client accounts and ensure the preparation and service of bills complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Solicitor.
Skills Required

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Fixed Share Partner within Domestic Property.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and achieve billing, time recording, and fee-earning targets set and to co-operate with the Firm’s credit control arrangements.
  • Competent understanding of all aspects of conveyancing including:
    • Sale and purchase
    • Freehold and leasehold
    • New build
    • Right to buy
    • Shared ownership
    • Equity release
    • Re-mortgage
    • Unregistered titles
  • Excellent organisational, IT and technical ability.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Work effectively within a team, as well as efficiently running an individual case-load.
  • Proficiency in analytical research, technically strong, with good drafting skills.
  • Adaptability and collaborative working.
  • Understanding and adopting the Firm’s values and behaviours.
