An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Archivist to join the Facilities department in our Grimsby office.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately updating and maintaining computerised records.

This position would suit a candidate who has the ability to work as part of a team and excellent organisational and IT skills.

Knowledge and experience of working as an Archivist in a professional environment would be preferred. 

Duties will include
  • File all new documents in the strong room creating appropriate computerised records.
  • Retrieve and return documents to the strong room as requested by fee earners and update computer records as appropriate.
  • Prepare all old files for storage and create computer records to show location.
  • Arrange for the retrieval and return of archived files/documents as requested by fee earners.
  • Prepare old files for destruction in line with the destruction dates accordioning to the Firm’s policy. Oversee destruction of old files/documents.
  • Cover reception duties as required.
Skills Required

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar working environment would be preferred
  • Accurate keyboard skills and attention to detail
  • An ability to show initiative and establish positive working relationships with colleagues
  • Proven ability to take responsibility for tasks
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills
  • IT literate
  • Understanding and adopting the Firm’s values and behaviours.
