Summary

We are currently looking to recruit two Fixed Share Partners to join our growing Commercial Property department.

The role will involve supporting the department in providing Commercial Property legal advice to the Firm’s clients.

Our Commercial Property team is both regionally and nationally respected and this is reflected by our Legal 500 Tier 1 ranking.

Our  national and local client base extends across many sectors including housebuilders and commercial developers, social housing providers, large scale retailers and investors, banks, government  bodies, energy companies, health care providers and charities as well as educational establishments.

Our work is varied and challenging but we have an experienced and supportive team of over 45 members which spans across four of our Wilkin Chapman’s offices. We’re experts in a number of fields and our client base is diverse and includes major household names and plcs together with more local organisations and individuals.

Our team continues to grow and this presents many dynamic and varied opportunities for our team members.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fixed Share Partner to demonstrate their ability to run their own case-load, whilst managing their client’s expectations with a friendly and professional approach.

Prospective candidates must have a sound understanding and be able to demonstrate their ability to manage a technically experienced case-load covering the full spectrum of commercial property matters.

The candidate will be expected to work with other team members and in particular supervising and developing more junior members of the team.

As well as managing their own caseload, the successful candidate will be expected to lead business development and take part in departmental strategy. 

Duties will include
  • Carrying out work referred to above in a technically strong, collaborative and team focused manner. 
  • Providing support for other team members, particularly more junior members of the team.
  • Having a leadership role within the current team and to manage work being done by that team to ensure efficiency and that work is being carried out at the right level and to a good standard.
  • Assist in continued growth of the Commercial Property team.
  • Work with the Head of Department and other partners in the department to ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to all clients.
  • Responsible for achieving financial targets agreed with Head of Department and ensuring good financial hygiene is delivered within own caseload and by team members.
  • Conduct all matters in the client’s best interest and in accordance with the highest professional standards and applicable quality standards at all times.
Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Solicitor.
Skills Required

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Fixed Share Partner within Commercial Property or alternatively other relevant experience demonstrating the candidate’s ability to perform the role would be desirable.
  • A proven ability to work to deadlines and achieve billing, time recording, and fee-earning targets  together with an understanding of good financial hygiene.
  • That they are commercially astute, technically strong and keep themselves current on key legal and business news.
  • Excellent skills in communication, client relations and collaborative team working.
  • That they provide a professional, quality service in a timely manner and respond effectively to requests from internal and external clients.
  • The ambition to succeed and commitment to departmental development and client relationship management.
  • An understanding and willingness to embrace the Firm’s values and behaviours.
