An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join the Domestic Property department in our Horncastle office.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide secretarial support to all allocated partners / fee earner(s) in the Domestic Property department.  

Duties will include
  • Producing and amending correspondence, documents, reports, emails, attachments from a variety of sources, in line with the Firm’s specific systems/procedures making proper use of Liberate and Office applications, referencing system and precedent bank.
  • File correspondence and documents as described in Firm’s policy.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise workload to ensure all deadlines are met: including checking key dates and reminders from Liberate and other Office applications and liaising with fee earners. 
  • Ensure all correspondence/documentation is completed by the stipulated time.
  • Reviewing incoming post and emails in fee earner’s absence and ensuring appropriate action taken if necessary.
  • Attend to clients on the telephone and in person.  Relay messages accurately and without delay. In the absence of the fee earner ensure that appropriate action is taken on urgent messages.
  • Arrange internal and external meetings on behalf of fee earners.
  • Assist with account queries.
  • Work effectively with fee earners and secretarial team members across the whole business.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the Firms data security protocols.
  • Maintain a level of individual knowledge required for the role.
  • Any other administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in conveyancing is desirable but not essential.

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages;
  • Strong command of English spelling, punctuation and grammar;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to show initiative and work as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills;
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills;
  • Accurate keyboard skills and attention to detail;
  • IT Literate;
  • Experience of diary organisation / management;
  • Understanding and adopting the Firm’s values and behaviours.
