An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Desktop Rollout and Installation Engineer to join the IT Team in our Grimsby office.

The Role

The successful candidate will assist with the rollout of new desktop hardware (laptops and docking stations) for our staff across 5 offices in the Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire region. To support the laptop users during the early stages of them using the new devices. To help with any general IT queries and questions as they arise.

The ideal candidate must have their own transport and be prepared to travel between our office locations in the Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire region.

The position will be for an initial 12 month period. 

Duties will include
  • To be the first point of contact for employees, delivering a professional service to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Provide first line support by diagnosing / resolving and escalating incidents.
  • Prepare the devices for rollout including setting up and recording the details.
  • Maintain the IT asset register.
  • Testing and preparing devices prior to them going to users.
  • Conduct installation activities including rewiring desks to accommodate the new hardware.
  • Carry out any changes as required to the Active Directory.
  • Support users when first logging on and becoming familiar with the new hardware.
  • Ensure legacy devices are disposed of securely in accordance with the firms standards.
Skills Required

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience supporting Office 365, Windows 10 and Microsoft Teams would be desirable.
  • To be approachable, helpful and communicate with employees at all levels within the business.
  • Application skills and experience.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the work are delivered with a “customer orientated” focus to all internal and external users.
  • Understanding and adopting the Firm’s values and behaviours.
