The role

Associate/Senior Associate in Commercial Property Investment Team

PQE: six - eight years


We are looking for a bright, experienced and motivated Associate to join our Commercial Property Investment Team. Sitting within the wider Real Estate Group, you’ll act for clients ranging from ultra - high net worth offshore investors and major UK property companies to international  funders. You'll be engaged in the full range of high-value commercial property investment work including: -


     1. Sales and purchases;

     2. High-value lettings;

     3. Day-to-day property management work; and

     4. Funding work

A transactional role, you will have extensive day-to-day contact with clients and their other advisors at a senior level providing high quality legal and commercial solutions to whatever issues arise. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to sit at the heart of high value complex transactions for major investment clients.

The team

9 partners, 2 trainees, 17 solicitors, 3 legal executives, 9 secretaries

This structure, as well as our in depth understanding of the property market, enables us to provide a flexible approach to our clients’ requirements. Partners, who have a specific brief and business plan themselves, maintain close involvement with the team but there is plenty of opportunity to take responsibility, to deal with clients directly and to continue to develop your skills and experience over a wide variety of challenging work.

Client base and type of work

The Real Estate department represents a significant part of our business and clients include Residential Developers and National House Builders, Investment Funds, Entrepreneurs and Housing Associations undertaking large high profile developments, urban regeneration projects and Joint Ventures. This involves a huge variety of challenging legal and contractual work.

As a firm we have acted as lawyers on major regeneration and development schemes in London and beyond for over 25 years, and advise many of the leading residential and commercial developers in the UK. Over the last few years, we’ve built teams around experts in planning, construction, tax, finance, investment funds, asset management, plot sales and property litigation. We serve major real estate investment funds, private equity investors and commercial landlords as well as leading retail brand occupiers.

Candidate specification

We are looking for someone with the following experience/skills:

  • strong academics - minimum 2:1
  • strong landlord and tenant and investment experience
  • has experience of working on a full range of high value commercial property including lettings, sales and purchases, day to day management
  • technically strong

The ideal candidate would probably be from a London firm but we would consider candidates from good regional firms.
